The weather was perfect, the grounds awesome, even our fencing was great… But what I loved the most was the generosity of our students, old and new who took time out of their busy lives to help us show some of the amazing things that are out there to do with our dogs. I was blown away by the support that we had.
Let me tell you about some of these amazing people. I won’t use names as I haven’t asked permission, but hopefully they will know who they are.

Kids and Canines Team
Three lovely Kids and Canines students came down with their dogs. One was a previous student who came down to say hello with both the original dog that she had been training, and the new puppy that has joined the family. She has also been doing the foundation training for this puppy and you could tell what an awesome job she was doing by the confidence with which both dogs were able to navigate the course with her.
Competing the in tricks competition as well as demonstrating canine hoopers for us, we had two of our younger Kids and Canines students. Both girls were able to advocate for their dogs when they needed space, a break, a chance to move around and let us know when they were ready to show their stuff in the ring. They also modified the criteria for these dogs as necessary, especially if there were distractions inside or outside of the ring. To be able to address your dog’s needs like this takes time learning to watch your dog and read their body language. These girls have a better handle on it than many adults that I see. I am super proud of them.
Canine Hoopers Team
What can I say about these amazing ladies! I love having them in my classes, but to also have them coming down to the event, bringing their dogs, their families and demonstrating the hoopers courses for us. You are such an integral part of our community. Your dogs had a blast, I am sure you did too. The comments from people watching were full of wonder and I can see why.
Fellow Dog Professionals
It is such a boost when other dog professionals come along and support you at these events. A big thank you to all of you who came down to say hello, check out our display and even helped out. I love how we can all support each other in this industry.
The Roley Dogs Instructors Team
A massive thank you to Ben and Scott who made everything run so smoothly so that I could concentrate on keeping the ring open, demonstrations flowing through, commentate on the demonstrations (yes, I got given the microphone) and allow those who had dogs at the event to come and try out our canine hoopers course. It was great to see you both also get a chance to take some dogs for a run. You make it look not only fun, but so very easy. I am sure the dogs enjoyed it as much as you did!
